Introduction to Adobe Flash CS5 is ideal for users who want to learn key Flash concepts and techniques in a hands on lab and focused setting. More experienced users who already have some experience with Flash can use this course to learn some of Flash CS5's more advanced features and newest tools. (3 days) 9:30am - 5:00pm

In addition to learning the key elements of the Flash interface, including panels, timelines, and frames, you will cover how to work with graphics, create and edit symbols, modify text, add interactivity with ActionScript 3.0, and incorporate animation and sound into their projects. You will also learn how to prepare and export their finished projects for publishing. This course also covers the new text engine, Deco drawing tools, Spring feature for inverse kinematics, video enhancements, and more.

Using step-by-step, project-based lessons, this course walks users through the creation of a specific project, with successive lessons building on the user's growing knowledge of the program.

Prerequisites

You should have a working knowledge of the Macintosh and its operating system. Make sure that you know how to use the mouse and standard menus and commands, and also how to open, save, and close files. If you wish to become certified in Adobe Flash CS5, details will be provided in class. Certification for Adobe products is provided by Person Vue.

About the instructor

Rod Nolan

Rod Nolan has been training and developing applications with Flash technology since 2004. Over the past six years, he has received many Flash product and Flash instructor certifications from Adobe. In addition to teaching Flash, Rod has developed many Flash applications for clients of New Toronto Group, so he brings a wealth of practical experience to every Flash class he delivers. Rod is also highly experienced with other Adobe web development products related to Flash such as Dreamweaver, Flash Media Server and Flex.
