About the trainer: Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Kert Gartner has become a lover of all things related to the visual arts. With a passion for Photography, Animation, and Visual Effects, Kert has accumulated over 12 years of experience in the visual effects, motion graphics and print industry. He spent 7 years working on some of Hollywood’s largest films, including A-Team, Dragonball: Evolution, Superman Returns, Across the Universe, X-men III, and Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D.  Kert took an interest in photography around 1999 with the discovery of his grandpa’s old Canon AE-1 35mm SLR, which he still uses to this day. Kert has devoted himself to exploring new and unique photography techniques, including the use of Infrared film, some examples of which you can see here. Most of Kert’s shots incorporate some sort of digital manipulation, using tools like Photoshop and Eyeon Fusion in interesting and unique ways to create a compelling final shot. You can follow Kert on his personal website, or on his blog, Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo, LinkedIn, Youtube, and Flickr. If you want to learn from Kert, he hosts a tutorial site called VFX Haiku where divulges the tricks of his trade.
