HD Digital SLR Filmmaking
On Tuesday April 27, 2010, from 7 pm - 9 pm, celebrated (by his family) commercial filmmaker James Swirsky will demonstrate the virtues of the HDSLR movement, as well as the drawbacks of shooting on such a new and evolving platform. Jamie's production company Blink-Works produced the New Media Business showcase that so many of you saw at IMAX this past December which was shot on just two HDSLRs.

But alas, these cameras are succeeding in spite of themselves. Because for every glorious ‘Pro’ offered by an HDSLR, there is a boat-load of frustrating ‘Cons’ that can frustrate the shooter to no end. With these little ‘gotchas’ in place, your footage can go from ‘Coen Brothers’ to ‘Uncle-Marty-Just-Got-A-New-Camcorder’ in seconds flat. Jamie's presentations are always informative, gracious, and entertaining. I encourage you to register soon as seating is limited [update: we apologize but this event is now sold out. We will try and offer it again in the future]. There is no charge to attend but we will get Twilight Zone circa 1980's on you if you register and do not show up. We will meet at 1000 Waverley. All are welcome. We are very fortunate that Mid Canada Production Services will be giving away 5 prizes consisting of an HDSLR camera rental, and William F. White's will be providing our refreshments!
