Christmas Party for the Peeps!

It's been quite a year and we have plenty to celebrate. Our industry had the opportunity to partner on some amazing events over the past 12-months and the opportunities to grow business has never been stronger (recession, what recession?). People I've spoken with in the Manitoba Digital Media sectors are upbeat; our markets are expanding, there is plenty of work to go after, and new companies, web applications, and iPhone apps are popping up all over the province. This has been an awesome year to be a new media entrepreneur. What better way to celebrate your success than with all the folks that make this industry great?

On Thursday December 4, 2008, we're hosting our annual Digital Media Christmas Party with good friends from; the Graphic Designers of Canada, On Screen Manitoba, the International Game Developers Association, and Flash in the Peg. All our members create digital media in one format or another and this is a wonderful time to mix and explore partnerships for the new year!

Our Christmas party will be hosted at Don Pedro's Mexican Grill at 114 Market Avenue. Doors open at 7:30 pm with music by DJ L'il Phil spinning at 8 pm. Everyone is welcome.
You know it never ceases to amaze me how many digital media projects are being developed in Manitoba that no one knows about. That's why our party will also feature a couple of project demos you may have never seen before! Starting at 8:30 pm we're going to see a demonstration of Noah Decter Jackson's, "Pirates Ahoy," along with a, "Digital Nations," convergence project presented by Ryan Fitzgerald.

Tickets are $5 at the door (cash only please) or credit card online which includes some of Don Pedro's specialty appetizers. You're welcome to come earlier to buy yourself dinner beforehand while the restaurant is open to the general public. After 8 pm it's ours! Please note, our online payment system is PayPal but you don't need an account to register as there's a Credit Card option. We ask everyone to please register in advance so we know how much appetizers to order.
