Video Games & Robots - need I say more? Alright, here’s a bit more…

On Tuesday, August 19, 2008, @ 7 pm, in Winnipeg’s Psych Health Centre, NMM will feature a presentation from, “Cogmation Robotics,” on how they developed their very own robot from scratch, and transitioned it into an application for serious games and the military. Since developing their first custom robot and software, Cogmation Robotics has attracted a series of Angel Investors and international attention. On Tuesday they will discuss three core components to their business model including:

1. robotSuite: robotics software for hobbyists, professionals, and manufacturers
2. AI Apocalypse: a free downloadable game that features optional pay-to-play enhancements
3. Investment attraction and grants, including experiences with angel investors and how to structure your company to attract investors.

For me, the word “robot” and “game” in the same sentence is enough to make me drop what I’m doing and RUN to find out more, and on Tuesday you’ll get your chance! In addition to learning how you can leverage serious games and robots, Tuesday’s presentation will be an invaluable opportunity to learn how to attract investors through a multi-disciplinary new media business that will keep your head above water.
