Complex Games, Winnipeg’s premiere interactive development firm, is thrilled to announce that we have just received the award for Best Web-Based Game at the 10th annual Canadian New Media Awards.
The Award was given in recognition of the One Ocean Online project, developed as an online interactive companion to the CBC documentary mini-series of the same name starring David Suzuki, and produced by Merit Motion Pictures.
“We are thrilled that the One Ocean project is being recognized for this award,” said Noah Decter-Jackson, Complex Games president. “The web games were designed to help communicate the theme of the documentary, engaging players about the threats that exist to our Ocean Biosphere and the importance of conservation ”
Complex Games partnered with Tactica Interactive Communications, a web developer also based in Winnipeg to produce the One Ocean Online experience. A video of the gameplay can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfQFdG8QByw
