An avid gamer who made his own video games in his spare time\, Darryl suddenly discovered that he could get paid for making games and immediately made the switch to join the industry. \n\n\n\nDarryl is now Managing Director of Ubisoft Toronto\, a studio of amazingly talented AAA game development teams dedicated to creating immersive and engaging games for some of the industry’s hottest brands. Craig will provide context on Fish Flight’s work with Unreal Engine over the past nine years across film\, episodic television\, cinematics\, and real-time pipelines. DESCRIPTION:New Media Manitoba presents this free camp for indigenous youth aged 14-18\, led by local interdisciplinary artist Casey Koyczan.\n\n\n\nIt’s important to preserve who we are\, where we come from\, and make our voices heard.\n\n\n\nArt is always evolving\, as are the tools and techniques that we have at our disposal are ever-changing. However\, the essential need we all have as human beings to tell our stories and express ourselves remains constant. \n\n\n\nThis course will encourage students of any skill level to gain experience with digital art tools. They will employ techniques such as 3D Modeling and Animation using Blender to craft a piece of their own to express who they are. By the end of this camp students will gain beginner to intermediate skills in Storytelling\, 3D Modeling / Animation / Rendering\, Blender\, and Project Management \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes \n\n\n\n\nGetting familiar with Blender as a digital art tool\n\n\n\n3D Art Pipeline using Blender\n\n\n\nCreating scenes and rendering digital art pieces in Blender\n\n\n\n\nTopics Covered: \n\n\n\n\nIntroduction to Interface and Tools\n\n\n\nImporting\, Materials\, Lighting and Camera\n\n\n\nAnimation\, Physics\, Rendering and Exporting\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInstructor Bio \n\n\n\nCasey Koyczan is a Dene interdisciplinary artist from Yellowknife\, NT\, that uses various mediums to communicate how culture and technology can grow together in order for us to develop a better understanding of who we are\, where we come from\, and what we will be. He creates with whatever tools necessary to bring an idea to fruition\, and specializes in sculpture\, installation\, 3D/VR/AR/360\, video\, and audio works such as music\, soundscapes and film scores. \n\n\n\nHe is an international artist that has participated in many residencies\, exhibits\, festivals and collaborations in parts of the world such as Finland\, Colombia\, Chile\, Mexico\, The Netherlands\, The USA\, and the UK.
