SUMMARY:AI Visualization to Unreal Engine
DESCRIPTION:This is a 2-day virtual training session totaling 6 hours. \n\n\n\nYour ticket is valid for both days — no need to register twice! \n\n\n\nSchedule: Saturday\, September 27\, and Sunday\, September 28 — 10 AM to 1 PM CDT \n\n\n\nThe details to join will be sent to those registered in advance of Sept 27th.This immersive workshop introduces a cutting-edge AI-to-Unreal Engine workflow that enables participants to render custom 3D scenes in any visual style from Photorealism to Anime using a combination of Blender\, Stable Diffusion\, and Unreal Engine. \n\n\n\nThe core of this workflow involves generating depth maps from Blender and using ControlNet to guide AI-generated imagery\, which is then integrated into Unreal Engine for real-time scene visualization. \n\n\n\nWhat You’ll Learn: \n\n\n\n\nBuild a 3D environment using primitive shapes and array modifiers in Blender\n\n\n\nCreate a depth map using Blender nodes\n\n\n\nUse Stable Diffusion + ControlNet to generate AI-driven images\n\n\n\nImport AI-generated images into Unreal Engine as custom map materials\n\n\n\nExport 3D environments from Blender into Unreal and create multiple styled versions in minutes\n\n\n\n\nFULL VPN ACCESS – We know that one of the biggest barriers to entry when learning Unreal Engine is having a machine that can keep up. With that in mind\, we are happy to offer VPN access to a 4090 workstation with registration for this course. Just login on your local machine and have all the benefits of a production-ready computer. \n\n\n\nNo prior experience required – This course is beginner-friendly and open to anyone curious about AI and 3D workflows. All steps will be clearly explained\, making it accessible even if you’ve never worked with Blender\, Unreal\, or AI tools before. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails

SUMMARY:StudioLab xR: Gaussian Splatting
DESCRIPTION:Join New Media Manitoba for this intensive one-day workshop which introduces Gaussian Splatting – a cutting-edge technique for photorealistic 3D scene capture and rendering – with a focus on film and VFX applications. Guided by industry expert Lee J. Buckley\, participants will explore the theory behind Gaussian Splatting and get hands-on experience with the latest tools. \n\n\n\nLee recently completed work using these techniques for NVIDIAs keynote CES Address where they reviled a Radiance Field of the entrance to Endeavor\, one of NVIDIA’s two main campuses. \n\n\n\nWhen: March 26thTime: 9:00 am to 5:00 pmWhere: StudioLab xR | C100 – 201 PortageCost: $319.77 \n\n\n\nGaussian Splatting is a new technology in 3D graphics that helps create incredibly realistic and fast-rendering visuals. Imagine taking pictures from different angles and using those images to build a 3D model of a scene or object. Instead of drawing every detail with tiny blocks (like pixels)\, Gaussian Splatting uses soft\, cloud-like points called “Gaussians” to represent the shapes and textures in the scene. This allows the computer to create smooth and detailed images much faster than traditional methods. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Lee Buckley\n\n\n\nLee J. Buckley\, brings over 25 years of experience in the film industry\, with expertise spanning multiple production disciplines. Having worked on major productions such as War for the Planet of the Apes\, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales\, and The Rings Of Power\, Lee’s innovative approach to visual storytelling and R&D leadership in Gaussian Splatting makes him a pioneering force in the industry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue

SUMMARY:Introduction to Digital Document Accessibility with Karin Carlson
DESCRIPTION:Nearly one in six Manitobans has a disability\, which creates barriers where they work\, live and play. It is easy to take simple things like accessing a document or form for granted\, but these barriers to accessibility are a real and constant challenge for people with disabilities. Accessible documents and forms required under the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA)\, so learning how to create them is a crucial skill. \nNew Media Manitoba and TechManitoba are partnering to bring you this important and timely workshop. In this two-day workshop\, participants will learn the process of creating documents that meet provincial accessibility requirements using both Adobe InDesign and Acrobat. \nThe Province of Manitoba is committed to becoming a more inclusive society. The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) outlines a clear and proactive process to identify and prevent obstacles in critical areas of daily living. This includes removing barriers for accessing information online and with digital documents. \nWith this goal in mind\, it is imperative that we learn how to meet these standards when creating digital documents. It is easy to take viewing a simple document for granted\, but imagine how someone with a visual impairment might be excluded from this potentially critical task. The Province has produced evolving guidelines and best practices around accessibility requirements\, which can be a challenge to implement. This workshop will guide you through the process and let you meet and exceed requirements and create more inclusive experiences in the process. \n Learning Outcomes: \n\nInDesign Techniques For Accessible PDF Files\nImporting from Word\nDocument metadata\nParagraph styles\nMapping Styles to Tags with Export Tagging\nReview the Styles in the InDesign Document\nCreating a Table of Contents to add PDF Bookmarks\nContent on the Master Pages and Artifacts\nAnchoring images\nAdding custom alternative text to images\nUsing Alt text from Bridge\nArtifacting graphic objects\nNumbered and bulleted lists\nUsing the Articles Panel to Adjust Reading Order\nPDF bookmarks\nInteractive hyperlinks and cross-references\nMaking Tables Accessible\nCreating Accessible Forms\nCreate an Accessible PDF file from InDesign with Export\nAdjusting Adobe Acrobat Presets\nColor contrast (text) and use of color\nAnchoring images\n\nRequirements: Participants should have basic computer literacy and understand file system navigation.
