Whether you’re a tech entrepreneur\, a corporate leader\, or an early-career professional\, your digital presence can either open doors or close them. Nicole Harris\, Founder & CEO of Solv Communications\, a Reputation Management and PR agency\, will show you how women in tech can shape their own narrative for success. \n\n\n\nLet’s face it\, perception shapes opportunities and the way we are seen influences promotion\, projects and leadership roles. Instead of allowing others to define us\, we must take control of our own narrative and actively manage our reputation online and offline. \n\n\n\nAgenda:11:45 am – NetworkingNoon – Indigenous Land Acknowledgement & Welcome12:05 pm – Nicole’s presentation12:30 pm – Q & A12:45 pm – Networking1:15 pm – All done! \n\n\n\nObjectiveBy the end of this talk\, you will learn: \n\n\n\n\nHow your online presence influences your career and brand.\n\n\n\nStrategies to safeguard your digital and real-world reputation.\n\n\n\nLessons from successful women in tech who have shaped their own success stories.\n\n\n\n\nWhy this MattersDid you know that 70% of employers and clients research professionals online before making hiring or partnership decisions? That means that before you even walk into an interview\, pitch a project\, or apply for a job\, people have already formed an impression of you based on what they see online. \n\n\n\nWomen in tech often have to work harder to establish credibility. This means that how we present ourselves online can directly impact on our opportunities and professional trajectory. A single misstep – a controversial post\, an outdated profile\, or an unguarded comment – can have lasting consequences. \n\n\n\nNicole Harris of Solv Communications will show you how your online presence influences your career and brand. You will also learn strategies to safeguard your digital and real-world reputation and gain insights from successful women in tech who have shaped their own stories. \n\n\n\nWho should attend: \n\n\n\n\nWomen in Tech & Allies – Build credibility\, gain visibility\, and support inclusive workplaces\n\n\n\nNewcomers to Canada – Stand out in a competitive job market and establish your professional brand\n\n\n\nStudents & Early-Career Professionals – Make a strong first impression and accelerate your career\n\n\n\nTech Entrepreneurs & Leaders – Manage your public image\, attract opportunities\, and position yourself for success\n\n\n\n\nAbout our speaker:A former television anchor and journalist\, Nicole Harris knows the power of a great story – and how to own it. After years in front of the camera delivering daily headlines\, she traded in the news desk for an even greater calling: Helping people and brands craft narratives that connect\, inspire\, and protect their reputation. \n\n\n\nToday\, Nicole is the Founder of the dynamic PR and Reputation Management agency\, Solv Communications\, which is known for protecting and promoting brands by turning complex challenges into clear\, compelling communication strategies. \n\n\n\nDuring her 25-year career\, Nicole has provided strategic communications to the President of Iceland; she’s promoted tech companies at the Consumer Electronic Show in Vegas\, debuted an international food company at the NASDAQ in New York and conducted national PR for two Amazing Race Canada winners. \n\n\n\nWith an unwavering belief in empowering others and sharing what she’s learned throughout her career\, Nicole has contributed her time to various boards and volunteer initiatives – including Junior Achievement\, where she mentors students on business and financial literacy. Nicole believes confidence and knowledge are the best kind of currency. \n\n\n\nWhen she’s not helping clients shape their public image\, you’ll find her on the links with friends and family (she swears her “birdie swagger” is real). Off the course\, she’s an avid pit master who loves getting saucy with her BBQ crew\, and come football season\, she’s a diehard fan who runs on pizza\, coffee\, and touchdowns. \n\n\n\nEqual parts strategist\, storyteller\, and hype woman\, Nicole Harris brings heart\, humour and hustle to everything she does. \n\n\n\n=== \n\n\n\nWe’re excited to have Nicole speak with us and look forward to her insights on how our members can safeguard their online reputation while shaping the narrative of their own story! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now

SUMMARY:StudioLab xR: Gaussian Splatting
DESCRIPTION:Join New Media Manitoba for this intensive one-day workshop which introduces Gaussian Splatting – a cutting-edge technique for photorealistic 3D scene capture and rendering – with a focus on film and VFX applications. Guided by industry expert Lee J. Buckley\, participants will explore the theory behind Gaussian Splatting and get hands-on experience with the latest tools. \n\n\n\nLee recently completed work using these techniques for NVIDIAs keynote CES Address where they reviled a Radiance Field of the entrance to Endeavor\, one of NVIDIA’s two main campuses. \n\n\n\nWhen: March 26thTime: 9:00 am to 5:00 pmWhere: StudioLab xR | C100 – 201 PortageCost: $319.77 \n\n\n\nGaussian Splatting is a new technology in 3D graphics that helps create incredibly realistic and fast-rendering visuals. Imagine taking pictures from different angles and using those images to build a 3D model of a scene or object. Instead of drawing every detail with tiny blocks (like pixels)\, Gaussian Splatting uses soft\, cloud-like points called “Gaussians” to represent the shapes and textures in the scene. This allows the computer to create smooth and detailed images much faster than traditional methods. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Lee Buckley\n\n\n\nLee J. Buckley\, brings over 25 years of experience in the film industry\, with expertise spanning multiple production disciplines. Having worked on major productions such as War for the Planet of the Apes\, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales\, and The Rings Of Power\, Lee’s innovative approach to visual storytelling and R&D leadership in Gaussian Splatting makes him a pioneering force in the industry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue

SUMMARY:GameBiz Lab: Working-For-Hire in Video Games: Can you? Should you?
DESCRIPTION:GameBiz Lab is bringing education and consulting around the business side of video games. Join us for our Masterclass series for new and aspiring video game studio owners or anyone interested in the business of video game development. \n\n\n\nGame Development is tough\, and many teams will get to the point where they need to look beyond their initial game project to find some different path to survive. Many consider if ‘Service Work’ is the way to go – taking on game development work from clients in (and out of) the game industry that will pay the bills and keep the lights on. \n\n\n\nFew who venture down this path first consider the implications on their team\, and how they may need to evolve as a business to succeed in this very different end of the business. Noah Decter-Jackson has tread this path – from starting up Complex Games as an indie studio working on its own game\, to pivoting to Work-For-Hire through several very different stages of the game industry\, to pivoting back to independent game development and launching a successful title – Noah has faced the many trials and tribulations of building a successful “Work-for-Hire” game development studio. \n\n\n\nIn this talk\, Noah will tackle the challenges of Service Work in Game Development\, what you should consider\, and whether or not it’s the path for you. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNoah Decter-Jackson\n\n\n\nAs Co-Founder\, Studio Head & Game Director of Complex Games Inc. (Manitoba’s first videogame development company)\, Noah has worked to push forward the industry in this province for the past 23 years. After initially bootstrapping a small team with $0 dollars\, he grew Complex into a successful work-for-hire studio employing nearly 50 people. Having also recently seen massive success with the launch of their own game title Noah has had experience with both sides of the business\, and is eager to help demystify how the service industry works. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue
