New Media Manitoba is looking for a Director of Operations to provide organizational and administrative leadership to its day-to-day operations. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the incumbent will follow and uphold the mission, vision, and values of New Media Manitoba. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and monitor initiatives with staff to achieve NMM strategic goals;
- Manage key operational areas including membership and community, business development and business supports, employment diversity and academic outreach, training and education, marketing and communications;
- Implement financial and organizational policies and procedures to operate NMM efficiently:
- Monitor and manage monthly and annual budgets;
- Prepare monthly financial and operational reports for the Executive Director;
- Ensure proper accounting controls are in place and upheld to ensure fiscal accountability;
- Prepare records for the annual audit and work with the auditor to complete the audit process and implement audit recommendations;
- Prepare funding applications and reports to funders;
- Administer the funds provided according to the terms and conditions of the contribution agreements;
- Develops and seeks other revenue sources;
- Ensure compliance with funding agreements;
- Develop and implement record-keeping system for all activities and program participants;
- Ensure reporting accuracy and timelines are met.
- Manage human resources to implement operational plans:
- Recruit, hire and train for positions;
- Monitor, supervise and appraise the performance of NMM staff reports;
- Work with NMM team on process improvements and solutions;
- Ensure an inclusive work environment;
- Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations;
- Direct and assign staff responsibilities.
- Support and maintain relationships with government, IDM companies and industry stakeholders;

QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in management, or equivalent experience with professional development;
- Successful management and administrative experience and/or experience in the IDM industry;
- Proven verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity, and member-oriented service.
