SUMMARY:AI Interaction | Funding for AI Adoption and the Tools Defining 2026
DESCRIPTION:Register Here\n\n\n\n\nOverview \n\n\n\nA hands-on AI workshop for creatives to automate production woGet the inside scoop on the latest AI funding hacks and tools shaping the future in 2026. \n\n\n\nAI tooling is moving faster than budgets can keep up. This session shows you two things: the funding and support available to help your company adopt and commercialize AI\, and a clear-eyed look at the open-source tools putting professional-grade capability within reach without per-seat subscriptions. \n\n\n\nPart 1 — Funding & Business Support (30 min) \n\n\n\nWhat the program is\, who it serves\, and how it helps IDM and digital-industry companies adopt and commercialize AI. We’ll cover what support is available\, what participation looks like\, and how to engage\, so you leave knowing your next concrete step. \n\n\n\nPart 2 — The State of AI in 2026 for IDM (60 min) \n\n\n\nA practical deep dive\, split into the two areas that matter to a working studio: \n\n\n\nBack office & productivity — A new class of desktop AI “co-worker” assistants that take on real production admin alongside your team (script breakdowns\, scheduling\, brainstorming\, email triage)\, plus the open Agent Skills standard (SKILL.md) that lets you write a workflow once and run it across tools\, with no vendor lock-in. \n\n\n\nProduction — A tour of the open-source projects now reaching production quality across asset and world generation\, video\, character animation\, and studio tooling. The specific tools\, and a look at what they can do\, will be revealed at the session. \n\n\n\nWhat you’ll walk away with \n\n\n\n\nA clear picture of the funding and support available to act on AI now.\n\n\n\nThe open Agent Skills standard means your workflows stay portable across tools.\n\n\n\nOpen-source options that deliver real capability without per-seat costs.\n\n\n\n\nAgenda \n\n\n\n8:00 PM – Event Concludes \n\n\n\n5:30 PM – Doors Open \n\n\n\n6:00 PM – Event Begins \n\n\n\n=== \n\n\n\nNew Media Manitoba’s AI Adoption Project is funded by Prairies Economic Development Canada I Développement économique Canada pour les Prairies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue

With nearly seven years in the marketing space\, Gem pivoted from corporate digital marketing into games to work with people that love what they do. Corvian’s philosophy is simple: a video game’s greatest marketing asset is its community. Rather than chasing clicks and impressions\, Corvian builds lasting\, self-sustaining communities around games by showing the human effort behind them before ever asking for a wishlist. It’s marketing built for an audience that is\, as Gem puts it\, borderline allergic to traditional marketing. Corvian currently works with studios ranging from solo devs to double-A teams\, including Richard Garfield’s Popularium Games\, and has partnered with the Canadian Game Awards\, the Toronto Game Expo\, and Interactive New Brunswick to bring accessible marketing resources to developers who otherwise wouldn’t have them. \n\n\n\n=== \n\n\n\nNew Media Manitoba is thankful to the Canada Media Fund and Ubisoft for their support of GameBiz Lab. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nVenue

SUMMARY:WGC Postmortem
DESCRIPTION:New Media Manitoba is proud to partner with the Winnipeg Game Collective for another Postmortem! \n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nEver wonder what goes into making a video game? \n\n\n\nEvery video game you’ve ever played started as an idea\, and getting from that idea to something people can actually play takes more creativity\, problem-solving\, and hard choices than most people ever see. \n\n\n\nThe Winnipeg Game Collective Postmortem is an evening dedicated to pulling back the curtain on what it really takes to make a video game. Local developers will take the stage to share honest reflections on their projects: what inspired them\, what clicked\, what fell apart\, and what they’d do differently. Each presentation is followed by open Q&A. \n\n\n\nWhether you make games yourself or have always been curious about how they come together\, this is a free\, rare look at the process from the people living it. \n\n\n\nWho should come: \n\n\n\n\nVideo game developers — whether you’ve released a dozen projects or are still building your first\n\n\n\nWinnipeg Game Jam 2026 participants — come celebrate what you made and hear how others experienced the jam\n\n\n\nAnyone curious about making video games — this is a rare\, honest look at the process from the people living it\n\n\n\nArtists\, writers\, musicians\, and designers who work or want to work in video games\n\n\n\nAnyone who loves video games and wants to connect with the people making them right here in Winnipeg\n\n\n\n\nThe Winnipeg Game Collective is a nonprofit community of game developers in Winnipeg\, Manitoba.
