AI + Creativity + Ethics (ACE) Winnipeg

September Session Topic: What’s Your AI Code?
Responsible AI can feel abstract until it shows up in our own creativity, work and everyday decisions.
This interactive ACE Club session asks a more personal question: What’s Your AI Code?
- We’ll begin with a representative from DesCan sharing how the design community is approaching AI and responsible creative practice, including emerging principles, questions and resources.
- Using DesCan’s work as an example, participants will take part in a guided session to identify their own personal AI code, reflecting on real-world AI uses and considering what feels comfortable, what depends on the situation, where the grey areas are and what lines they would not cross.
- We’ll then bring those choices to life with a live room visualization, asking participants to position themselves based on their personal stance from the working session.
- We’ll explore where the room aligned, where it didn’t, what challenged our thinking and whose perspectives may still be missing.
- We’ll close with providing resources to bring the key principles into our own lives and keep the conversation going.
- The goal is not to create one universal code for responsible AI, but to each leave with clarity on our own AI Code.
Participants arrive asking: “What are guidelines for responsible AI?” and leave with clarity: “What are my guidelines and why”
