Overview

IDM CreatorLab is for educators and students who want to gain more Interactive Digital Media (IDM) skills through Game Development Fundamentals.

IDM CreatorLab provides an online learning environment where participants focus on developing their skills in Game Design and Game Development to meet their personal learning goals.

Marc Cacho is NMM’s IDM CreatorLab Lead and learning designer, bringing an abundance of experience as a Technical Artist. Marc is an accredited Unity Certified Professional Artist. Their breadth of knowledge encompasses digital art, game programming, project management, and game design. Marc looks forward to inspiring and mentoring students of all ages.

Introductory Courses

Learn the different functions and features of
the Unity video game engine and gain an
understanding of the tools required to
assemble a video game.


You will be able to navigate the interface, use
common tools, and complete challenges to
level up your development skills.


Equipment: Computers capable of 3D
graphics processing and an internet connection

Develop and test an original game that has been ideated from start to finish emphasizing foundational game design principles and project organization.

Minimum Equipment: Basic computers with an internet connection

In this course, you will learn how to use digital creation software, specifically Unity in a classroom setting.

The course aims to equip educators with the knowledge and skills needed to teach game design and development to students in grades 9-12.

This course is delivered synchronously and focuses on building upon the foundational skills gained in Game Design 1 and Game Development in Unity 1.
