Louie Ghiz has been with NMM since 2009 and has been the Executive Director since 2016. Louie ensures that NMM has strong connections with our members, as well as stakeholders in government and academia. He has over fifteen years of experience working with the interactive digital media industry, as prior to NMM he worked as an investment analyst and new media manager at Telefilm Canada offices in Halifax and Toronto.

Juliet joined the NMM family in September 2019. Juliet has 18 years of experience working with a variety of IDM companies and innovation strategists in Winnipeg and in Vancouver. She has contributed to Manitoba’s tech community for over ten years and brings an abundance of enthusiasm to the NMM team. She focuses on creating value for NMM members and helps to amplify the collective successes of Manitoba’s IDM industry. She is committed to empowering NMM members and elevating under-represented groups. Juliet is always on the lookout for innovative ideas and opportunities to collaborate with members and the community. We’re so lucky to have Juliet on board and can’t wait to see what she’s got up her sleeve.

Taralee Turner brings more than 12 years of senior organizational and administrative leadership experience to our new Director of Operations role.

As a CPA, CMA with an undergraduate degree in Education, she’s followed a path of service with organizations and associations supporting education, training and community enrichment. Taralee’s journey has provided a wealth of experience that she is eager to share, and she looks forward to working collaboratively toward supporting Manitoba’s IDM community.

Marc has a vast array of experiences and skills that he brings to New Media Manitoba as the Game Design Instructor. A recent graduate from the Toronto Film School in Game Design & Animation; Game Design, Production, Game Art, and Programming. Marc especially enjoys sharing that knowledge and excitement with everyone interested.

Marc also helps organize community events and workshops in both Pixel Pals and the Winnipeg Digital Art Group. Participating and helping grow the local Game Development community is something Marc enjoys doing as he continues to develop his own skills in the fast changing industry that is Game Development.

Jonathan works to ensure that the most relevant training supports are in place to achieve NMM’s goals of optimizing the IDM workforce. He is responsible for working and consulting with IDM companies and individuals, creating educational partnerships, creating customized training support and engaging with the community. Jonathan has over 15 years of experience working with advanced creative technologies, project management and community outreach.

After three years of helping businesses grow with YES! Winnipeg, Corinne is energized by the exciting opportunity to help Manitoba IDM companies continue to flourish and grow!

Her passion, professionalism and strong relationships with local tech companies and organizations, coupled with her experience with federally funded projects, ensures that Manitoba’s IDM companies will receive a high level of service and support. 

Corinne will be managing all of our Digital Innovation Business Programs that provide IDM companies with access to funding that drives revenue generation, market expansion, and job creation. Eligible companies in Manitoba can access matching funds for business development support.

Olivia has 7 years of 3D knowledge under her belt, as well as a graphic design skillset. She’s been living and breathing video games since she was big enough to sit at a computer desk. Olivia graduated from RRC Polytech’s Digital Media Design program in 2021. She’s a 3D Computer Animation major and is passionate about 3D art and game design. Olive’s goal as the Digital Media Coordinator is to share her passion with students.

She is the face behind the Girls in Gaming program, manages the NMM newsletter, runs the social media channels, and is a teaching assistant for the Tech Hub program.

Tamara Abas is an Unreal Engine Authorized Instructor who is passionate about mentoring and growing the industry within her community. She has experience working on a variety of virtual production projects, developing tools and workflows. Tamara is always growing her skill set and adapting to the ever-evolving industry.
