This program helps new and aspiring video game studio owners or anyone interested in the business of video game development.
For the Spring 2026 program, NMM is focused on studio foundations and game ideation. NMM is excited to have Noah Decter-Jackson lead a session on starting an indie team or game studio today.

Speaker: Noah Decter-Jackson
A 24 year veteran CEO & Creative Director in the videogame industry, Noah co-founded Complex Games inc. right here in Winnipeg back in 2001 with $0, going on to build an award-winning work-for-hire mobile studio with a team of 55 working for clients including Disney, Zynga, Nickelodeon, Square Enix & more. Later pivoting the team to internal development, they launching the top-selling title Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters in 2022, selling the studio to Frontier Developments later that year. Noah has been actively involved in founding & supporting the videogame development community in Manitoba since its earliest days, including co-founding and leading the Winnipeg Chapter of International Game Developers Association for nearly10 years & serving as a Board Member of New Media Manitoba for over 15 years.
Since stepping away from his role at Complex Games, Noah has taken on the duties of Executive Director of the Canadian Interactive Alliance (CIAIC) where he is working on finding ways to advocate for the Canadian videogame industry.
