As part of the Province’s Official Tech Week celebration New Media Manitoba is excited to announce a blockbuster event on Thursday, February 27th at StudioLab xR. This is a power-packed lined-up and one you won’t want to miss whether you’re a filmmaker, game developer, artist, or simply curious about the intersection of technology and storytelling.

We will be exploring how technology is revolutionizing creativity and storytelling with three industry leaders from some of the most innovative companies in the field:

🎬 Sean Cody – Blur Studio

A powerhouse in animation and VFX, Blur Studio is known for crafting breathtaking cinematic trailers, game cinematics, and cutting-edge storytelling in film and television.

As Head of Systems at Blur Studio, Sean Cody leads the design, implementation, and management of the studio’s technical infrastructure. Sean w will be speaking on some of Blur Studio’s focus on art over all things current work and current work including The Unreal Tournament Episode of Secret Level.

🎮 Jamie Hurcomb – Epic Games

The creators of Unreal Engine, Epic Games is transforming real-time 3D content creation across gaming, film, and virtual production.

Jamie Hurcomb is an Education Advisor at Epic Games. She will be presenting on the power of Transmedia in modern content creation and how it can unlock new possibilities.

☁️ Stephanie Holden – AWS Thinkbox

Pioneering cloud-based rendering and pipeline tools, AWS Thinkbox is redefining how studios scale and optimize their VFX, animation, and design workflows.

Stephanie Holden is a Go-to-Market Specialist on the Visual Compute team at Amazon Web Services. She will be discussing content creation on AWS together and the different ways AWS is innovating with customers to revolutionize how they operate. They want to enable customers who make pretty pixels to scale based on workload, collaborate globally, optimize cost, and, most importantly, remove barriers to focus on creativity.
