StudioLab xR: Worldbuilding in Unreal Engine 5

World Building in Unreal Engine is a two day workshop that focuses on creating 3D environments, virtual set design and previsualization to execute the artistic vision of their project. This in-person course will guide you through the powerful tools in Unreal Engine used to produce realistic visual cinematics that tells engaging stories.

When: March 8th & 9th
Time: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, both days

Cost: $199 not including fees and taxes

Through project-based learning, participants will learn how to build scenes using landscape, foliage and water workflows, use materials, lighting and rendering techniques, and previsualize compelling shots.

This course is designed for traditional 3D/CG artists, production designers, art directors, and concept artists to explore FAB, Buffer, Lumen and Nanite visualization tools for asset creation and model enhancements.

NOTE: This course will be delivered at StudioLab xR. It is focused on integrating real-time techniques into projects with Unreal building inEngine 5, and does not cover real-time compositing techniques with an LED wall or green screen.


Matt McMahon

Matt is a fluent tech enthusiast who is experienced in working with the latest technologies. He understands how new, exciting tech can help build more impactful interactive experiences, and can enrich the digital landscape for those who want to learn.

He has a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Winnipeg and a Diploma of Game Design from the Vancouver Film School. Matt is always developing his skill set to devise better support for the growing needs of the interactive digital media industries.
