HaZ has spent several decades working across games, VFX, film, and television. His directing credits span indie features that have streamed on Netflix, as well as projects he executive-produced and directed for Disney+. A pioneer of real-time filmmaking in Unreal Engine, he has also directed content inside Fortnite and cinematic sequences for major titles including Evil Genius 2 (Rebellion) and Dune: Awakening (Funcom).
Building on this cross-industry expertise, HaZ founded Beyond The Pixels®, a studio dedicated to developing original and licensed game IP designed for expansion into film, TV, and UGC through a transmedia approach.
The studio’s debut indie title, Astro Burn, is a modern-retro side-scrolling shoot ’em up launching across PC, Mac, mobile, and consoles. Packed with arcade chaos, slick pixel art, and a sci-fi mystery at its core, Astro Burn represents both HaZ’s passion for retro-inspired gaming and his vision for future-facing, multi-platform IP. Underscoring this transmedia mission, an animated TV series adaptation of Astro Burn was announced in Deadline and is already in development, positioning Beyond The Pixels at the forefront of games -driven storytelling.
