Introduction to Unreal Engine 5

Unreal Engine is at the forefront of virtual production, leading with advanced real-time 3D creation tools for photo-real visuals and immersive experiences.

This introductory hand-on course will give participants a working understanding of Unreal Engine 5 real-time toolset. Through a series of demonstrations, participants will learn the interface and navigation, how to import data, landscape and foliage tools, creating materials, lighting, using Sequencer and the basics of using Post Process Volume.

Classes will engage participants through project based in-engine hands-on practice and discussions on creating high quality assets that support a wide range of content production stages.

NOTE: This course will be delivered in-person at the New Media Manitoba office . It is focused on the basics of Unreal Engine 5 and does not cover real-time compositing techniques with an LED wall or green screen.

Presenter Information

Tamara Abas is an Unreal Engine Authorized Instructor who is passionate about mentoring and growing the creative industry within her community. She has experience working on a variety of virtual production projects, developing tools and workflows. Tamara is always growing her skill set and adapting to the ever-evolving industry.
